Star wars episode 7 latest news1/17/2024 MORE : Star Wars Episode 7: What has Princess Leia been doing since Return of the Jedi?ģ. He could be as valuable a resource to a new Republic (should they chose to call it that) as Luke, Leia, Han or any other major character, so perhaps – like Jar Jar before him – a ‘sidekick’ will assume a major political position. It’s not impossible to see Episode VII make a return trip to Kashyyyk to collect Chewie as they ‘get the band back together’ and in future episodes perhaps bring along some of his family from 1978’s infamous Star Wars Holiday Special.Ĭhewie looks great for a 200 year old (Picture: Lucasfilm)Ĭhewie was two centuries old when we met him, and with Episode VII being a further 40 years down the timeline his wisdom will only have matured. While wookiees are notorious for their temper, Chewbacca was wise and thoughtful, attributes that certainly helped keep Han Solo alive for so long. In a move similar to the Klingon Worf’s in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Chewie could return to his homeworld and assume the mantle of leadership.Ĭhewbacca’s off-world adventures made him a folk hero on his home planet, so such a role could fit him well. But that’s now moot and with the imminent arrival of Episode VII his future is once again open. Either way, it means I am going to be skip what you have to say and only listen to the end, where the people that actually enjoy SW more than they hate it get to talk. What could the mighty Wookiee have been doing since the close of Return of the Jedi? In the Expanded Universe he stayed by Solo’s side until his fiery death on Sernpidal when one of its moons crashed into the planet. So a statment like that tells me you either are not actually a fan or you don't really belive what you are saying. If you are a SW fan then even the worst movie in the franchise would be a better watch than a thousand other movies that aren't SW related. No one says you have to like everything but why focus on things you don't to the point it just becomes disingenuine? "It's probably the worst movie ever made" was where I had to stop listening in the last epiosde. As a fan of the franchase it makes listening hard. However, the hosts of the podcast are not great fans of the franchise and take a jab at what they hate in every episode. They have great guests that are involved with the Star Wars Universe with insight into this fantastic universe. The interview portion of the podcast, saved for the end, is 5 stars. They are very professional interviewers and I always look forward to their new shows! Even the people that don’t like the addition of Hayden Christensen to ROTJ usually prefer Victory Celebration as the “one good change” to the movie.Īll this to say, the hosts sometimes have questionable opinions but are always entertaining! I would give this show a listen, especially if you’re a more casual fan just looking for insight on movies and live-action TV. Everyone else I have heard from on this prefers Victory Celebration, from Original Trilogy kids to prequel kids and sequel kids. That’s just crazy to me! I am Gen Z so I never heard Yub Nub with the movie, but Victory Celebration is perfect and quintessential John Williams- easily top 10 Star Wars musical moments. For example… it seems that multiple hosts on the show prefer Yub Nub to Victory Celebration. It’s not a bad thing at all- the hosts get along great and make for interesting discussion- but they don’t seem to keep up with Star Wars fan culture (animation, books and comics, news outside of the movies & shows, internet trends) so they have some really different discussion than I’m used to hearing. I listen to A LOT of Star Wars podcasts, but this one sticks out to me as the hosts that I most often disagree with. I would recommend this podcast for the great interviews.
